Inspired by Swami Vivekananda's Teachings and Thoughts, a band of dedicated Doctors and Social workers in 1974 established a Medical Mission by name "Swami Vivekanand Medical Mission" Nagpur (State of Maharashtra - India), with a view to serve the Rural poor. The Mission was registered as a Society and Trust under societies' Act 1960 (Maharashtra and Bombay Public Trust Act 1950) respectively in the year 1978

Arogya Seva Kendra, started in a thatched Cowshed, 12-13 Kms away from the city of Nagpur on National Highway No-7. an outpatient Department for one-day i.e. (Sunday) in a week, the Mission gradually enhanced its services & today it has-

  1. Clough Eye Hospital. In 1987
  2. An outpatient wing (O.P.D.New Building). In 1991
  3. Smt. Shashi Sharma Memorial Hospital (A Mother & Child Health Care Hospital). In 1996
  4. A Pathology Laboratory. In 1997
  5. Mobile unit in 1998
  6. Dental Department.In 1998
  7. Staff & doctors Quarters. In 1999
  8. Nursing School (training Village Girls as Multi Purpose Health workers). In 1999
  9. General Medical Ward & Cardiac Care Unit. In 2000
  10. Neonatal Care Unit. In 2000
  11. Physiotherapy department. In 2004
  12. Department of Radiology (X ray). In 2005

Our Reach: villagers residing in nearly 125 villages around our Arogya Seva Kendra take advantage of this Center.

Our Charges :
     Free to the deserving ones,
     Minimal cost to general rural people and
     Affordable cost to others.

Up to the year 2000 More than 305000 patients have been served by Arogya Seva Kendra (an average of 25, 000 Patients per year were treated in OPD and more than 1000 per year treated in Indoor).
