To quickly save a Web page to your Favorites list, press CTRL+D.

You can send a Web page in e-mail by clicking the File menu, pointing to Send, and then clicking Page By Email.

Rececnt Addition

We have recently added additional facility at Swami Vivekananda Medical Mission. This facility is neither an "Old Age Home" nor a "Hospic" But it is inbetween the two.
We will provide the following at Half-way-Home

* General Medical care by a regular doctor

* Regular nursing care

* Physiotheraphy to the parients if recommended

* Convalescent care

The above facility is meant to be for patients who are fir to be descharged but do need general medical aid, nurshing care and or Physiotherapy. We have 50 bedded hospital on National highway at just 7 km from Nagpur city, on Wardha road. It is located in very quiet; serene and unpolluted rural area which will surely enhance the recovery of the convalescent patients. Our existing infrastructure can can surely lookafter all the needs of convalvescent patients at a very moderate cost. Of course, the homely environment and compassionate handling by our doctors and the staff comes free. This facility could be used by anyone for 6-8 week who are in need of its.

Infrastructure

3. Physiotherapy Deptt.

5. Pathology-Bio-chemistry;; lab.
6. X-Ray & Ultra-sound Unit
7. O.P.D. (inclusive of Injection & dressing room)
8. Pharmacy Store
9. Quarters for residential Doctors 07
10. Qtrs. For paramedical staff 11 nos
11. Mess for nurses, patients & staff.

In addition to the above, SVMM has 24 hrs. Ambulance service, Mobile van (3 nos) for peripheral services & a generator.
Coverage of Medical services
SVMM has so far provided medical services to approx. 9,00,000 patients since 1974 till date at an average of 30,000 patients per year covering more than 125 villages in an around Nagpur. Emergency services are also provided round the clock (24 x 7) by residential chief medical officer d& 04 resident medical officer.

All these services are provided at affordable cost to the most villagers & free for the deserving poor patients by approx. 50 dedicated Doctors on voluntary basis without any honorarium & are assisted by approx. 55 social volunteers on various days. All the Doctors & social volunteers perform their ;respective task without any honorarium or any; conveyance allowance etc. Even-if any honorarium is paid, to the Doctors as per the regulations of SVMM, the said honorarium is instantly donated to SVMSD by these Doctors such is a dedication of all people associated with SVMM.
Out Patient Department
SVMM operates OPD on all days except Sunday for ailments emerging from general illness, ENT, dental, surgical, skin & STD, orthopedics, eye etc.
General Treatment
SVMM provides general treatment at its "Arogya Seva Kendra" to almost 2500 patients every;;;; month or 30,000 patients every; ;year. In addition, it provides treatment to the villagers in this respeftive villages through well equipped mobile vans, covering more than 125 villages by periodical visits on regular basis.
Surgical Operations
The surgical operations are undertaken in two available Operation Theatres and are mostly restricted to Eye surgery. General surgery, OB/Gynae surgery. Renowned Doctors from Nagpur perform different types of surgeries as : when required. The specialist Doctors give their services free or at a bare minimum charges as the case may be. But the facility exists so as to ensure that the needy poor don't have to go all the way tao city;; :& spend huge sums of money

Peripheral Services
Width ;the aid to spread general health; awareness and hygiene, Swami Vivekanand Medical lMission runs a peripheral services in about 150 villages within the proximity; of Nagapur city. Three mobile vans are utilized for this purpose. During the peripheral visits, the volunteers of SVMM carry out the; ;education of local population especially women on various health subjects such ;as prevention of disease, aids awareness, avoidance of TB & STD importance of good hygiene, skin disorders etc. through innovative methods to make it easy; to understand by one and all at villager level. Most of the time all these subjects are made so interesting that the villagers eagerly awaited to participate in the activity.

This whole programme is formed in such a manner that there is near integration of social and medical activity; land; its benefits are multifold

Early diagnosis of ailment and its treatment.
Cultivators can take the advantage without foregoing their work and daily wages.
The treatment is received at minimum cost & at their door-step.
This service is especially beneficial to those residing in remote areas having no public conveyances.
It also helps to establish the socials contacts & to develop the trust amongst the persons of the Organization which renders service to them apart from creating health awareness.
